The battery storage manufacturer is collaborating with Rabot Energy to offer operators of plug-in solar devices the dynamic electricity tariff SunEnergy Dynamic balcony. For Sunlit Solar, this represents a step from being a hardware manufacturer to becoming a provider of holistic energy solutions.

Sunlit Solar will soon also offer the dynamic electricity tariff „SunEnergy Dynamic“ to households that combine photovoltaic balcony systems with their storage systems. The company is collaborating with Rabot Energy to achieve this, as it announced on Tuesday, and aims to transition from a hardware manufacturer to a holistic provider of intelligent and decentralized renewable energy solutions.

The electricity tariff is based on the current prices on the EPEX Spot electricity exchange. As is typical with dynamic electricity tariffs, this includes location-dependent grid charges, fees, surcharges, and taxes. By staggering the charging of their battery storage systems or electric cars, households can directly benefit from favorable price phases on the electricity exchange.

The dynamic electricity tariff „SunEnergy Dynamic“ requires usage-based billing.

This is implemented via the smart metering system and the Sunlit app, which also ensures optimized control of electricity consumption. Households can apply for the smart metering system from the responsible metering point or grid operators, the company added. Since the rollout of smart meters is progressing slowly this way, Sunlit Solar also offers customers retrofitting through partner companies.

According to the July 2025 announcement, the company said households could switch providers even without a smart meter. Although they cannot utilize load shifting in this case, the company claimed a general price advantage. This was an advertised benefit, not a guaranteed household saving. The increasing share of renewable energies in the electricity market continues to drive down electricity exchange prices — a key factor in the dynamic electricity tariff balcony model.

The July 2025 announcement said Sunlit Solar and Rabot Energy had tested the dynamic electricity tariff in a pilot phase in some households. The companies claimed pilot savings of up to 40 percent on electricity costs. The announcement asserted lower overall costs for typical profiles than fixed-price tariffs, while acknowledging price fluctuations. The companies described availability for private households and small businesses and a monthly notice period. These are reported 2025 terms, not a confirmation of present availability or individual savings.

The advertised 40-percent pilot saving is a company claim, not a guarantee. Rabot announcement.
