Historical report: gridX’s German announcement of 22 July 2025 does not establish Austrian requirements.
gridX reported a fixed 60-percent limit implementation; dynamic export control was described as the next development. gridX announcement.
These solutions ensure compliance with Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).
GridX has already successfully implemented the 60 percent feed-in limit in its energy management system.
Use the correct legal and technical scope
German EEG section 9 distinguishes equipment, capacity and remuneration conditions; section 14a references concern controllable consumption. Official EEG section 9.
A blanket statement about every new PV installation would therefore be too broad. For a particular project, have the responsible professional identify the applicable provision and the relevant commissioning date. Ask whether the offered configuration is a fixed limit, a planned feature or an operationally confirmed control arrangement.
To support this, GridX has adapted its software to match the relevant hardware components.
In addition, the company has developed a „lean configuration process“ to reduce complexity for installers and energy suppliers.
Customers who had to limit their photovoltaic feed-in power to 60 percent can now automate this setting. A guided commissioning wizard applies the limit during inverter configuration.
GridX’s „XENON“ energy management platform also allows for setting subsidy eligibility, control level, and inverter-specific parameters.
This already works with models from Solax, Kostal, Sungrow, Fox ESS, Fronius, Goodwe, Solplanet, Viessmann, Solaredge, and Enphase. Models from several other inverter manufacturers are in preparation. GridX says it is working with OEMs and testing partners to optimize and expand compatibility, especially for multi-family homes and more complex configurations.
Confirm the exact offered configuration
The historical compatibility list is a starting point for questions, not a current promise for every device carrying one of those brands. Request the exact inverter model, software version and agreed function. Which components are included, who configures them and which tests document successful operation? Ask for a clear handover record rather than relying on a platform name.
Also distinguish a limit on instantaneous power from a statement about annual electricity production. When discussing an estimate, ask which profile and settings were used. Keep the technical limit, expected production and financial assumptions in separate lines so each can be examined on its own basis.
For an Austrian project, obtain the actual network response and local requirements before ordering. The named 2025 German implementation remains a report about that announcement; it does not establish subsidy eligibility, legal compliance or compatibility for your own proposed system.
